Solid revival, well-cast, well-directed, but I left wishing they'd taken bigger swings with the material instead of playing it safe.
Disappointed. The book never earned its emotional beats, and a few of the songs felt like placeholders that never got rewritten.
Funny, then surprisingly tender, then funny again. The lead's instincts on the laughs landed every single time.
Performances were sharp but the staging never quite settled into a rhythm — kept feeling like the second-act blocking belonged to a different show.
Front-row seats for this one and the spittle from the title role landed on my program at least three times. Loved every minute of it.
